Have you ever thought about giving some modern touches to your old banger? Perhaps turn your hot rod into a machine to be reckoned with? The guys at Autofocus.ca have done just that. So what looks like a pretty cool 1932 Ford Roadster is in fact something else. Combined with modern technology they’ve turned this fabulous vintage car into the world’s most advanced hot rod.
It comes with a pretty cool patented suspension design that isolates the wheel movement and contains it within the actual wheel. The clever use of hydraulics allows the suspension to effectively work without any up and down motion of the vehicle itself. Not only is this awesome but the ideal outcome is to have this design in production vehicles in the future. So what you’re looking at really is the future of cars. Not only is it a revolutionary suspension design but it contributes aesthetically to the overall vehicle. You’ve got to admit it looks good, right?
The chassis itself is also pretty special. As opposed to the original chassis design from Ford, these guys have modified it a little. It’s obvious they’ve kept the frame rails for the traditional 1932 Ford Roadster shape but what they’ve done is they’ve boxed it closed and then built a tubular structure like you would see in a NASCAR. That’s some pretty clever stuff. Structurally speaking this is an incredible piece of car manufacturing. I’m not saying that you would want to, but if you did roll it, the internal structure – that is built like a race car – would do pretty well in protecting you. Maybe the safest 1932 Ford you’ve ever seen?
If that’s not enough to get you excited, then I don’t know what is. But the paneling on this car has been re-manufactured and are actually real 1932 Ford panels and would fit right onto the original car. What a way to maintain that authenticity and yet produce an incredible machine – and the most advanced hot rod yet.

So what’s your favorite feature? I won’t lie, I’m impressed with the suspension technology and hydraulic system that they’ve got going on. It takes some real ingenuity to create something like that and then to be able to put it into action. The little drive they show in the video is what does it for me – you can see how smooth the car drives and the amount of movement within the suspension is almost non-existent.
